The Runes Necklace is a collaborative piece between Bluebell Lane & SÆ-RIMA.
This gender neutral design is created using recycled Fine Silver and comes with an option of two different chain lengths.
Anglo-Saxon symbols are of the utmost beauty; they are the very basis of our English language today yet are a million life times past as to how our alphabet is written now. We wanted to create this design as a homage to this historic line, and so our runes necklace was created.

Each symbol represents a different element - fire, earth, water, air, of which we feel encapsulates our experience of home - evenings by the fire, walks through the woods, swims in the sea and fresh air on long walks with our friends.

The Runes Necklace is made from Silver Clay which is much like any other clay to work with in that you can mould, sculpt, and imprint in to it, but it is made up from tiny particles of Fine Silver.

The Silver, which is sourced from the inside of old computers, medical instruments and photography supplies, is ground down and mixed with a non-toxic organic binder to form the clay.

To make the Runes Necklace, the clay is rolled out and imprinted in to using 4 small stamps that we made from offcuts in the workshop.

Once the Runes have been stamped, and each necklace cut to size, they are left to dry over night, when they are then ready to be fired.

Each necklace has a hoop and jump ring attached before being polished and adding either a 24” or 26” chain.

Please note that because of the nature of the clay, and each piece being made by hand, each necklace will vary slightly in size, but will measure approx. 3cm x 1cm.
