Day 6: REDUCING WASTE

No bit of silver ever goes to waste here. This pile of scraps will get melted down in to little silver balls, which in turn will become the full moon earrings, or become part of the dotted hoops or dot ring.

And this isnt the first time it has been recycled..!

All of the silver I use is either Ecosilver or Silver Clay, both of which have been recycled from things such as old medical equipment or computer innards. For the ecosilver, scraps are melted down and then turned in to either wire, sheet or grain. The silver clay is made by grinding down silver in to a powder and mixing it with a water based binder, to form a workable clay.
