S U S T A I N A B I L I T Y
All of the jewellery made at Bluebell Lane Jewellery is made using 100% Recycled Sterling Silver.
There are some pieces that I don't make myself, such as chains and findings. Please read below for more info on these.
Chain and Findings
Currently the chains I use are made using regular Sterling Silver, but one of my eco-goals for this year is to source Recycled Sterling Silver chains. This is proving to be a little harder than I would like, but I am determined to sort this by the end of 2021.
If you already have a chain that you would like to repurpose, I am more than happy to send just the pendent, please just drop me an email before, or within a couple of hours of placing your order to let me know.
STUD POSTS & EARRING HOOKS
I am pleased to say that all Stud Posts and Earring Hooks are now made in house, so are 100% Recycled Sterling Silver! Wahoo!
The current butterfly backs I use are made using regular Sterling Silver. I am looking in to making these in house, and exploring other options too.
As with the chains above, if you already have a pair of earring backs that you can reuse, and would like to just order the earrings themselves, then please just drop me an email before, or within a couple of hours of placing your order and I'll be happy to accommodate.
Any off-cuts or scraps that are produced in the workshop are melted down to be reused, meaning nothing goes to waste.
I also use salt, vinegar, and an eco washing up liquid in place of chemicals when it comes to pickling and cleaning your jewellery.
All of the packaging I use is compostable, even down to the ink on the postcards!
Carbon Neutral Shipping
I am super excited to say that I have teamed up with Greenr to offer you the option to off-set the carbon emissions of your shipping. When you reach the checkout, you will now see a Greenr tick box which will add £1.50 to your order, making your shipping carbon neutral!
They are passionate about building technology that helps businesses and consumers reduce their carbon footprint.
We cannot avoid actions that emit carbon emissions. But, we can ensure that those actions are carbon neutral by recapturing those emissions by planting trees, maintaining rainforests, re-fertilizing the oceans or investing in carbon capture technology. All of these methods are carbon negative – they take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.
